This one hits a double whammy with certain sectors of my f-list... if you didn't hear it when Big Finish released the last series of Eighth Doctor Adventures last year, BBC7 has them on on Sundays, and today's (so it's available for the next week...) was Max Warp... the one even the writer referred to as Top Gear in space! *g* Graeme Garden putting his best Clarkson forward, James Fleet (oh god the casting is inspired) being boring and pedantic (wonder who his character's modelled on?) and a refugee from a boyband playing... well... ;) It's a bit hammy in places, but that's part of the fun with the BFA's! (*has never got over Simon Pegg playing a gangster with no nose in Invaders From Mars*)

The Bunnies have got their wish! Seriously though, this news has me buzzing (I love Russell, I think he did great things bringing it back, but seriously, enough already. We know you think Ten's amazing and Rose was wonderful. Stop it.). I am now actually really looking forward to the next full series after the specials, and wondering what Mr Moffat has in store for us. If I were a real geek, I'd be wondering about now if he has an arc in mind something similar to the one Andrew Cartmel was trying to put in place for Seven when the original series was axed, but you all know I'm not a real geek, so I won't be wondering that. At all.

*has glee*

The builders are almost finished. They've gone for the weekend, and should be done by Wednesday at the latest. It's going to take ages to put the house to rights (the decoration grant from the council - sort of compensation for them wrecking everything! - will help a bit, but...) but it's beginning to feel a bit more like our house again, so that's something at least.

On to the evening's entertainment... Spoilers for Doctor Who S4 Ep1: 'Partners in Crime' )

So, last night I had a major Who-fest and I'm now caught up on the series. Everything from Daleks in Manhattan to Blink in one fell swoop. Insomnia has it's uses, even if it's the second night in a row I couldn't settle at all.

I've only one think to say about Blink: Am I the only person in the country who didn't find it in the least bit scary? I mean, it's a Moffatt episode; I was expecting abject terror ("Muuummmyyy? Are You my mummy?" Still gives me the shudders!) I liked it, and I thought it was a vast improvement on Love and Monsters... Don't Blink, or you'll miss the spoilers )

...Belfast Aunt and Uncle have arrived... I can hear the aunt quacking from downstairs, even over the computer fans. Here we go... Cemetery Sunday is on.

No matter how many prosthetics you slap on him, Ardal O'Hanlon will always be Ardal O'Hanlon!

Bring on the spoilers )

Spoilers for 2:2 'Tooth and Claw' )

Edited to add: Everyone's attention has been grabbed by the thing we know about, this series apparent Arc-word... but I'm more interested in something that keeps showing up in the story-related websites.

I have not yet squeed about Doctor Who. I shall now rectify that.

*SQUEE!*

No spoilers here, I might go in depth after I watch New Earth again, but for now:

David Tennant? Owns you.

Yes I enjoyed the Doctor Who bit for CiN, why do you ask? ;) I was worried they wouldn't show it here, NI gets its own sub-par regional version, which is pants, and rarely shows stuff from London, but they showed it just as it went out on network instead of three hours later which is the usual kind of delay (I'm still fuming from the LAST DW special they did - the 3D one, which was several hours late here, and I was only little and feared having to go to bed before it came on...)

Aside from that, the dysfunctional family next door are doing drunken kareoke in the backyard, so I won't get to sleep until they pass out, and I'm about 6000 words behind, nanowise...

yay.
