Fake regeneration? Rusty, I was beginning to like you again. Not that I particularly want rid of Tennant, but you know, some things in the mythology you just don't fuck with.
"Mickey Mouse!"
"Captain cheesecake!"
Mickey is made of pure 100% undiluted Awesome. That level he took in badass really paid off. Did you notice he didn't kneel to the Daleks? No mention of Jake makes me sad though... he'd just leave him behind and not say goodbye? Feh. Can't wait to see him and Martha in Turchwad. Hope they don't lose the awesome!
Right. Here's the crux of it. I don't want to think about those last five minutes. That was too cruel. For Donna to finally maybe get the chance to start believing in herself, and to have that ripped away and never know. She's right back where she was, hating herself and her life, feeling so lonely, and she has all this awesome inside her that never got tapped into because she has no belief in herself. Covering it up with bluff and bluster and pop-culture. Shouting at the world and no-one listens. I think you'll understand why if I say I don't think I'll ever be able to watch that episode past Mickey and Martha going off with Jack. I just... I can't even think about it.
Right. Never happened. So... the hope that Moffat won't break my heart remains. In the meantime; Christmas Special, Turchwad series three, Sarah-Jane Adventures series two and the DW Specials. Allons-y!

Date: 2008-07-05 09:44 pm (UTC)To be honest, I find myself wishing that RTD had killed off Donna rather than do that do her. Just... ugh. I'm ignoring it like the Eighth Doctor/Grace snogging.

Date: 2008-07-05 10:11 pm (UTC)Mmm. they had to write her out permanently, I get that, so why couldn't she have gone out being awesome? They gave Kylie the privilege, and we'd not become anywhere near as attatched to Astrid as to Donna... Oh well. I'm with you, we shall consign it to the same place as the TVM!

Date: 2008-07-05 10:45 pm (UTC)Exunctly - they could've given the stuttering hubby back to her (after all, Jo left Three to marry someone) and she could've lived happily ever after with him, or had her join Torchwood (dear heavens, the Jack-groping!) or SOMETHING other than doing a Jamie 'n' Zoe on her. Like Eric Roberts, we shall dump this in the Eye of Harmony and ignore it.
