Home again, home again. Jaqui is lovely, a complete nutter. She'll be taking me out and about every Thursday from next week, and I'll be seeing Melanie every few weeks. Things are moving on.
Also, I signed up for the Organ Donor Register... something I've been meaning to do for bloody ages, and never got round to. I think it's important, and I'm not able to give blood because of the post 1980 transfusion rule, so...
Public service announcement over. Ag.... why is it every time I turn on the radio they're playing that ruddy D12 track? Yes, fine, you're not a band, jeez...
So, I have to write about a smell for class next week... hmn...

Date: 2004-04-21 11:16 am (UTC)I've carried a donor card for as long as I can remember - what pisses me off though is that it's not enough - they still seek permission of family - why? As far as I'm concerned, I'm expressing my wishes by carrying the card - what more is there to say?
Sorry - I feel strongly about organ donation - good for you!

Date: 2004-04-21 12:48 pm (UTC)I may have to get into that donor thing myself. I am over 18, and I was supposed to get a card from our government. But I think my parents already know I want to be a donor anyway.

Date: 2004-04-22 04:27 am (UTC)What's the post 1980 transfusion rule?
I used to walk around with this pathetic donor registration card, but I think it's about 10 years old now, so it probably never even counted. Still, I think my family know me well enough to know that I don't mind being cut up and handed out if something were to happen :)

Date: 2004-04-22 10:28 am (UTC)Um, the 1980 rule... if you've recieved blood in or since 1980 you're not allowed to donate any, coz of vCJD... I'd say that rules out a huge chunk of the populace myself, but who are the NHS to consider commonsense?

Date: 2004-04-22 10:45 am (UTC)There's been a lot of debate over it a few months ago. I hope they rethink their discriminatory measure....
