Kirsty MacColl - Mambo de la Luna I love this song, I love this entire album, it's all so witty and joyful and it's so, so sad that it was her last.
The Bluetones - Marblehead Johnson. Yes, the video beats the shit out of me too. But this, THIS is one of the ten songs that is my favourite song (If you've been hanging round here any length of time you'll know my favourite song is a tie). This is just perfect to me, the melody and the vibe and the lyrics...
Space - Me and You Versus the World Staying in the 90s... *g* Oh, Space. So brilliant and so underrated. I had Spiders and Tin Planet and I played them both to death.
Take That - Mancunian Way You were sitting there going 'she can't possibly pick a TT track for this, they don't have any m's!' (does A Million Love Songs count or not? *g*) ALBUM TRACK, BABY! And... yeah, this is the big crowd pleaser off Beautiful World. This is the one that puts a lump in the throat of anyone who was there the first time around (Weirdly, I tend to think of Eight Letters as the sequel to this) and shamelessly so. And how can you not love the line "they gave us the keys to the city but they don't fit anything"?
Tom Lehrer - The Masochism Tango Yeah. *g* Come on, the man's a genius and he was getting away with this shit in the 50s! That deserves proper respect ;)
