And I don't like getting in the way.

Some of you... intimidate me... in that you're so settled in yourselves, and well, cool, for want of a better word!

I'm not aloof, just nervous.

you don't come across as stand-offish, i think... you're always nice and chatty whenever i speak to you. most people feel more comfortable with having the other person start conversations; it's human nature. And also murphys law: the better conversation and more interesting someone is, the less they like beginning convos. Possibly.
