I just watched Battle Royale and had one of those painful random brainflashes. Certain people on my flist will understand when I say simply, I think you can see where this is going. And no, I won't write it, so ner. ;)

In other news... We have a new tutor at Writers' Group, and I think we may just let this one live! Can't really say much after one week, but I think I like where he's coming from.

Battle Royale is just an insane movie and it's great and gory and messy, and I can never quite tell who's who, but it's still quite good.

They can pretend to be as deep as they like, it's still really just an excuse for a lot of creative blood and guts. I really enjoyed it! Even though, like you, I found the 40-odd students very confusing...

"I found the 40-odd students very confusing..."

Luckily most of them got killed off very soon.

Mmm, a little extreme, maybe, as a way of eliminating confusion, but it worked!

Exactly!

Speaking of things that work (:p) how are your crazy Top Gear crossovers coming along?

Agh...!

"I can see why they chose this place," Maddy chirped as the car swept down the road to Dunsfold.

"Plenty of space for their track."

"Well, yes, Jonathan, but these B roads up here are brilliant for driving."

Jonathan's grip on the door handle increased surreptitiously as Maddy continued; "They don't have to come far to do their road tests."

"Why are we even going here? I know exactly how you feel about Jeremy Clarkson..."

"Well, yes, it's all Barry's fault. It was this or Richard and Judy and..."

"And since Richard Madeley still has nightmares about your last appearence..."

"Yes, alright Jonathan! It might not be so bad, aparently Top Gear's really changed since it's come back on air."

Jonathan smiled and nodded.

"What's his name?"

Maddy flushed.

"Who?"

"The little one with the big eyes and the homicidal tendancy towards caravans."

Maddy on the Top Gear track in the reasonably priced car! I love it!

"Jonathan's grip on the door handle increased surreptitiously as Maddy continued"

*nods* Yup.

Should I be worried that that is almost exactly what my mother does when I overtake a truck/lorry type thing?

"The little one with the big eyes and the homicidal tendancy towards caravans."

Because of course Jonathan isn't stupid :D

Hee! I love what you've got so far! Your Maddy voice is great.

(And there's two p's in apparently, but I'm assuming you know that)

It had to be done! She's going to scare the Stig, I think...

Thanks! *beams*

I do, and I'm not just blaming my tools here, but I've noticed a lot of letters going missing lately... I think my six-year-old keyboard may be about to give up the ghost...

Assuming that's possible...

Oh god, is there going to be a bit where she does practice laps in the Lacetti and Richard or Stig or whoever joins her for the practice laps just about wets themselves, while Jonathan looks from the side thinking how happy he is not to be in there.

It was the 'Yes alright Jonathan!' that did it really. The sort of 'Stop talking about that subject because we discussed it dozens of times and even though I know you're right about I'm NOT going to admit to it so just shut it' thing Maddy just IS. Plus, I think she's said it plenty of times on the show.

I really really hope you finish this :D!

Jimmy Carr came close...

Well, there wasn't, but... :)

Plus, I think she's said it plenty of times on the show.

Yee, you can tell I've been re-watching series one, can't you :)

He also completely destroyed the car. And have you seen that segment on YouTube where they pit celebrities against each other? I can see WHY someone would be scared of Jimmy Carr. If you haven't, search for Top Gear Stars on YouTube, it's bound to turn up. It's brilliant, they do some bowling by shooting a car at six other cars and Alan Davies requests that they put Abba under his carbowling bit.

"Yee, you can tell I've been re-watching series one, can't you :)"

Well, t least this fic will have given you a reason to re-watrch, some some good has already come of it!

That's the one with Patrick Kielty and Jodie Kidd too, isn't it? I actually saw that when it went out on TV. Loved those double decker racing cars, those were bloody brilliant!

He also completely destroyed the car.

He had the fastest lap time in the Liana until Ellen MacArthur came along!

He was beaten by a *girl*

And then completely mucked up with the Lacetti.

He went the wrong way on the followthrough IIRC... Even getting lost he wasn't as slow as Terry Wogan!
