So the BBC seems to have suddenly realised they have more stuff in their archive they can show in the afternoons than Diagnosis Murder and Murder, She Wrote. The pilot today and tomorrow and the series proper from Thursday. This makes me a very happy girl :D

Lots of pleasing slashy asides on The Bubble tonight ("I had no intention of being cute!"). Who knew Miranda Hart shipped Mitchell/Webb? And Robert Webb's buzzer mashing on the headline about can you have spoilers for a panel show? just in case... ) was hilarious. Oh please, comedy gods, grant this show a second series!

Ahahaha! They were talking about Ghostwatch on The Bubble, and David Mitchell had NO IDEA. I guess he was spared the terror at the time. Someone needs to rectify that ;)

ETA: I just had this mental image of Mitchell watching Ghostwatch in the company of Charlie Brooker, who points and laughs every time Mitchell jumps and studiously avoids mentioning that he saw it when it went out and damn near shat himself. [livejournal.com profile] rionaleonhart, this is all your fault!

I think that might be the biggest (and most true) build-up anyone has ever given Sooty :D Also nice to see Barry and Stuart pulling Suicide in C Sharp out of the bag again...

Bound and gagged in the locker room, eh? I don't think there's really much else left to say!

Spoilers... )

The builders are almost finished. They've gone for the weekend, and should be done by Wednesday at the latest. It's going to take ages to put the house to rights (the decoration grant from the council - sort of compensation for them wrecking everything! - will help a bit, but...) but it's beginning to feel a bit more like our house again, so that's something at least.

On to the evening's entertainment... Spoilers for Doctor Who S4 Ep1: 'Partners in Crime' )

JEREMY LIFTING RICHARD OUT OF HIS WELLIES!

IS THAT A HOE?!

THE. TURBO. FOUNTAIN.

My sides hurt, my grin is wide. It was as far removed from reality as Paris Hilton, but my god it was funny.

And now she ded from laughter. Thought I'd give Peter Serafinowicz's new show a look in, since I was a huge fan of Look Around You... oh god... yes, this is the good stuff! [livejournal.com profile] rionaleonhart, I was thinking of you at one point - there was a running gag about Sherlock Holmes solving a mystery and celebrating by ravishing a complaining Watson...

John Simm owns you. He even owns David Tennant. There, I said it!

Here come the drums... erm, the spoilers... )

So, last night I had a major Who-fest and I'm now caught up on the series. Everything from Daleks in Manhattan to Blink in one fell swoop. Insomnia has it's uses, even if it's the second night in a row I couldn't settle at all.

I've only one think to say about Blink: Am I the only person in the country who didn't find it in the least bit scary? I mean, it's a Moffatt episode; I was expecting abject terror ("Muuummmyyy? Are You my mummy?" Still gives me the shudders!) I liked it, and I thought it was a vast improvement on Love and Monsters... Don't Blink, or you'll miss the spoilers )

...Belfast Aunt and Uncle have arrived... I can hear the aunt quacking from downstairs, even over the computer fans. Here we go... Cemetery Sunday is on.

This squee has been squeed all over LJ-land, but I had to have a little of my own...

Bring on the spoilers )

David Tennant still owns you. Seriously.

I like Martha. But... Here's where the spoilers start )

28 years ago today, my mum and dad said 'I do' :)

*-*-*-*

Now, here's one for you from the folder marked Whisky Tango Foxtrot.

In Tescos today dad and I were boggling at the antics of a little girl in stiletto heel boots (she can't have been any older than 7 - her feet! They'll be ruined!) and the mother that didn't seem too concerned about her behaviour. We passed them a couple of times. On the third, another little girl came haring past, nearly knocking things from shelves, with her mother behind bellowing out her name.

"SHANIA!"

Stiletto-girl looks round, confused, her mum leans down. "Not you, Shania."

O_o

*-*-*-*

Everyone else has said everything that needs to be said about last night's rock-fest (including [livejournal.com profile] madscot and [livejournal.com profile] jamaisneutral - resistance is futile, ladies ;)) but I shall simply say 'pianist's fingers' and grin a lot :D
littlemoose: A photograph of a vivd blue swallowtail butterfly against an orange stucco wall (TG - Roadtrip: Sunset (credit: m_l_h))
I just realised that I have not squeed about last night's TG Roadtrip Special. This is remiss of me, and must be remedied. Except... I dunno what's left to say! Richard deciding he was a cowboy was glorious, as was his CB handle and the inital drive through Florida, and Jeremy's car having the shirt of the last owner's last victim in the boot, and big Stig, and bumping into James becoming a running gag, and those astonishing radio ads, and the sun and the music and Jeremy waxing lyrical about being with his mates, and the COW! And poor Richard thinking he'd gone doolally 'There's a cow on your Cammero!"

I've not laughed like that in months. This is better than most comedy shows on tv right now.

And then there was the scary bit, and I don't care, I don't think that was staged, but dear god, whoever thought of that challenge deserves a slap on the back of the skull. "James, what you've done there is killed your friend!"

I've just realised this will mean nothing to the majority of my friendslist (shame on you! Watch the repeat and laugh yourself stupid!) and has probably utterly terrified certain Belgians... ah well, c'est la vie ;)

I lost track of how many times I said 'poor James!' in the last hour...

[Also I think 'Oh Christ hundred hours' has just replaced 'stupid am' in my insomniac's lexicon...]
